Like many faculty I have been involved with various services to my department at Middle Georgia State University in addition to my service to Auburn’s Math department while a graduate student. In addition to this I have had the pleasure of being involved with a unique Math Puzzle Competition both at Auburn and now at MGA.

The Auburn Mathematical Puzzle challenge or (AMP’d) was started in 2012 by a couple of Auburn graduate students. I became involved my first semester at Auburn in Fall 2013 and eventually lead the event until my graduation in Spring 2019. AMP’d is a math challenge designed to expose middle and highschool students to fields of math like combinatorics, topology, and analysis in a fun and interactive way.

The founders of Auburn’s AMP’d challenge now offer their puzzle challenge as a free, opensource puzzle competition called MaPP which is currently being hosted on several campuses and states. I am currently involved with the event's hosting at Middle Georgia State University. Find out more about MaPP at https://mappmath.org/
